Behavioral Support Designed Around Your Family
Every child and family is different. Services start by understanding your specific concerns, then developing practical strategies that fit your routines, your priorities and your goals.
Four Ways to Get Support
Not sure which fits? The free consultation exists precisely to answer that — you don’t have to decide before you talk to anyone.
Virtual Parent Coaching
One-on-one behavioral coaching by video, built around the situations that are hard in your home.
Virtual Potty Training Support
Individualized help with toilet training — including when the usual advice hasn't worked.
School Behavior & Advocacy
Understand school concerns, make sense of behavior plans and walk into the next meeting prepared.
In-Person Parent Coaching
Coaching inside your family's real routines, with modeling and immediate feedback.
Not sure which one?
Describe what’s going on and we’ll work out the right starting point together. No cost, no obligation.
Virtual or In Person?
Coaching is the same work either way — understanding what is driving a behavior, teaching a replacement skill, and helping you respond consistently. The difference is how it reaches you.
Virtual parent coaching fits around your week, works regardless of distance, and covers the full range of concerns. It is the right starting point for most families.
In-person coaching adds live modeling inside the routine that is actually difficult, with feedback in the moment. It is available in the Pensacola area, subject to scheduling.
Potty training and school behavior are handled as focused services because each has its own set of obstacles worth addressing directly.
Every service includes
- A free 30-minute consultation first
- Recommendations individualized to your child and household
- Plain-language explanation of why, not just what to do
- Strategies designed to fit real family schedules
- Support that adjusts as your child changes
- No requirement for a diagnosis or referral

Frequently Asked Questions
Service-specific questions are answered on each service page.
No. Families may seek behavioral consultation whether or not their child has a formal diagnosis. Plenty of parents reach out simply because something at home isn’t working and they would like a clearer plan. You also do not need to wait until a problem becomes severe.
No. Blue Jay Behavioral Consulting works with families experiencing a wide range of behavioral and developmental concerns. That includes children with autism, children with ADHD, children with other developmental differences, and many children with no diagnosis at all.
The goal is never to “fix” a child or their diagnosis. It is to understand behavior, teach useful skills and make daily life work better for everyone in the house.
Sessions happen over secure video. A typical arc looks like this: we talk through what is happening and gather background; where it is useful and you are comfortable, there may be some observation of the routine in question; we go over a number of different behavior topics and strategies each week; then you practice the strategies between sessions and we troubleshoot together.
More detail on the virtual parent coaching page.
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons families get in touch. What works depends heavily on what is contributing to the tantrums in the first place. Tantrums that happen when a demand is placed call for a different approach than tantrums that happen when a preferred item is removed.
That is why the first step is understanding the pattern rather than jumping straight to a technique. There is a longer explanation in this article on handling tantrums.
Yes. See Virtual Potty Training Support, which covers toilet refusal, difficulty initiating, accidents, stalled training and generalizing the skill beyond home.
Yes. See School Behavior & Advocacy for reviewing school concerns, preparing for meetings, classroom strategies and home–school communication.
This is behavioral consultation and parent support — it does not include legal representation.
Many services emphasize parent coaching, and that is a deliberate choice. Caregivers are present during the everyday routines where behavior actually happens, and can apply strategies consistently across situations and settings in a way that a provider seeing a child a few hours a week cannot.
Depending on the concern and the service, sessions may also include observation of your child or some direct work with them. We will discuss what makes sense for your situation during the consultation.
It is a roughly thirty-minute virtual conversation. You describe what is going on, what you have already tried and what you would like to be different. You can ask whatever you want to ask. You will hear some initial thoughts on what might be contributing and what support could look like.
You get to decide whether services seem appropriate. There is no charge and no pressure to continue — it is genuinely fine to conclude that now is not the right time.
Honestly: it varies, and anyone who gives you a guaranteed timeline is guessing. Progress depends on the specific behavior, the environment, how consistently strategies can be applied across caregivers, the skills being taught and your child’s current repertoire.
What you can reasonably expect is a clearer understanding of what is happening fairly early on, and a plan with measurable goals so that progress is something you can see rather than something you have to take on faith.
Blue Jay Behavioral Consulting is a private-pay service. Coaching and support services are billed directly rather than through insurance.
Current rates and payment options are discussed during the free consultation, so you will know exactly what is involved before committing to anything. If you have questions about cost beforehand, please get in touch — we are happy to answer them up front.
